The didj has just arrived and it's absolutely beautiful. So much so that I can see the padded case becoming somewhat redundant (as there's already been talk from Melanie about getting a stand so that it can stay in the living room where everyone can see it in all its glory!).
I've been playing it on and off for the last couple of hours and can't get over the difference in sound between it and the didj I already own. Even for someone with as limited an ability as me, it's fabulous, with so much richness and so many layers. Also, it seems to be incredibly easy to play (if not to lift up and hold); I never fully realised until today, what a difference good back pressure makes.
Anyway, it's about 9.45pm here so I should be able to get another ½ hr's playing in before bed. I'll be sure to email you again soon though, to let you know how it's settled in.
Once again, thanks for all your help. purchasing the instrument has been a great experience and one which I'm sure will continue for a long time.
